Job Description
Make a positive impact in the lives of high school students as a Special Education Teacher for a full-time contract assignment spanning from September 1 through the end of the school year. This opportunity is based near Woodland Park, CO and focuses on supporting students across two high schools, working primarily as a resource teacher for the high school (HS) age group.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Special Education (SPED) teaching certification required
- CDE (Colorado Department of Education) licensure or eligibility
- Experience working with high school students in a resource or special education capacity
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
- Ability to multitask and excel in a dynamic, split-site environment
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted instructional and behavioral support to high school students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and ensure accommodations
- Develop, write, and implement IEPs, maintaining accurate records and compliance
- Support successful transitions between classes and programs
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Consult with counselors, families, and related service providers
- Travel between two high school sites as needed (schedule to be determined with the district)
