Job Description
Make a positive impact on students’ lives as a Personal Care Assistant Substitute supporting school communities near Providence, RI. In this per diem, as-needed role, you’ll have the opportunity to work within classrooms or alongside individual students, helping them achieve academic and personal growth. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small-group support to students as directed by classroom staff
- Assist with daily routines, transitions, and classroom participation
- Implement behavior intervention plans and follow IEPs when applicable
- Support academic, behavioral, social, and mobility needs of students
- Ensure a safe and welcoming learning space for all
- Aid with personal care support and supervision as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to meet district TB test requirements
- Capability to stand, walk, and assist students with lifting if required
- Current background clearances or willingness to obtain prior to starting
Preferred Experience:
- Previous work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or childcare
- Familiarity supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Experience with CPI, PMT, or RBT helpful but not required
- Reliable, compassionate, and collaborative approach
