Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in thriving school communities near Aurora, CO! Four full-time positions are available—each at a single school site, within a welcoming, collaborative, and inclusive district environment. Assignments begin July 27, 2026, and run through May 21, 2027, working a consistent 37.5 hours per week.
Open positions include Learning Specialist roles (mild/moderate caseload), as well as specialized roles supporting students with significant affective or cognitive/behavioral needs. Placements feature close teamwork with paraprofessionals, push-in related services, and a strong emphasis on behavioral expertise for designated caseloads.
What we're looking for:
- Valid Colorado DOE Teacher license with Special Education Generalist (ages 5-21) endorsement
- Experience supporting elementary-age learners in special education settings
- Knowledge of educational and behavioral interventions such as ABA, CPI, de-escalation techniques, and Denver model (role-dependent)
- Strong background in autism support, FBA/BIP, and working with students with moderate to severe cognitive or behavioral disabilities is highly preferred for affective needs and structured learning services positions
- Team-oriented mindset, flexibility, and commitment to inclusive practices
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction aligned with IEP goals in self-contained or integrated settings
- Lead, mentor, and collaborate with paraprofessionals and interdisciplinary providers (speech, OT, psychology)
- Develop, implement, and monitor behavior plans and support sensory/academic regulation strategies
- Maintain timely progress monitoring and effective parent/school communication
- Complete district-specific credentialing/documentation promptly before assignment start
