Job Title: CarpenterJob Description

This role seeks a skilled carpenter to construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials in both commercial and residential settings. You will work efficiently with minimal supervision, follow technical plans and measurements, and consistently adhere to health and safety regulations while delivering high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints, drawings, sketches, and technical documents to fully understand project requirements.
  • Take accurate measurements and calculate the size and quantity of materials needed for each project.
  • Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials, such as fiberglass, according to specified measurements.
  • Build window frames, doors, staircases, and structural frameworks using raw materials or pre-constructed components.
  • Frame buildings and other structures in line with construction plans and building codes.
  • Install structures and fixtures, including windows, molding, and other finish carpentry elements.
  • Inspect existing structures, frameworks, and fixtures to identify damage or wear and determine repair needs.
  • Repair or replace damaged framework, structures, and fixtures to restore integrity and appearance.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform a wide range of carpentry tasks.
  • Perform finish carpentry work to achieve a high level of detail and quality in both commercial and residential projects.
  • Maintain a safe and clean worksite by removing debris and hazardous materials and organizing tools and equipment.
  • Ensure all completed work meets quality standards, building regulations, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals, including architects and engineers, to align work with overall project goals.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures at all times while working indoors and outdoors.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience as a carpenter in construction environments.
  • Hands-on experience working with a variety of carpentry materials, including wood and composite materials.
  • Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
  • Proficiency in using electrical and manual tools and equipment, such as powered saws, hammers, hand tools, and tape measures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and other technical documents.
  • Ability to take precise measurements and perform basic math calculations for material quantities and dimensions.
  • Experience in framing and finish carpentry work.
  • Experience in commercial construction projects.
  • Experience in residential construction projects.
  • Willingness to follow safety guidelines and regulations consistently.
  • Good physical condition and endurance to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Comfort working with fiberglass and other non-wood materials when required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes and compliance with building standards.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time and tasks efficiently.
  • Solid problem-solving skills to address construction challenges on site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
