CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for an Administrative Specialist for the Housing Supports department. Under the direction of the Regional Director, the Administrative Specialist will perform a variety of administrative duties that support the functioning of the Housing Supports department (i.e. entering data, completing reports, monitoring and ordering supplies, and assisting with the upkeep of case records to assure completeness.
The Housing Supports Admin will be tasked with offering direct support to individuals, helping navigate housing applications, managing tenant relations, and working closely with property managers and community agencies. This position demands a blend of administrative acumen, interpersonal skills, and a deep commitment to social welfare.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Serve as the primary point of contact fielding inquiries from tenants, landlords, and external community service partners.
- Establishes and maintains record systems and files; updates and maintains records and reports related to assigned program and activities including those of a confidential nature; prepares reports and agenda items as assigned by the position.
- Independently composes correspondence, answers inquiries, and provides technical information related to assigned program, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with funding partners, referral agencies, and other regional social service agencies

Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health discipline preferred; alternatively, a high school diploma with 2+ years of related work/ lived experience.
- Knowledge of Medicaid policies and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and customer support skills.
- Proficient in MS Office products especially Excel, as well as general computer literacy.
- Familiarity with data management systems and basic database operations.
- Experience in housing management or social services preferred.
- Understanding of housing policies and regulations and knowledge of local housing market and community resources.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple tasks, and maintain productivity.
- Excellent organizational and data organization skills to manage large volumes of information.
- Communicate effectively at all levels in a diverse and fast paced working environment.
- Strong project coordination and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to effectively engage and support individuals with mental health diagnoses through empathy, professionalism, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Bilingual skills a plus!
- Valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
- Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
