Marine Service Technician

Location: Dorchester, MA

Pay: $40–$50/hr

Schedule: 1st Shift (Start time between 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

We are seeking a Marine Service Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining boats, marine engines, trailers, and related equipment. Whether you are an experienced marine technician or have strong mechanical aptitude and are looking to grow in the marine industry, this is an excellent opportunity with paid training available.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair marine engines, transmissions, drives, generators, and related systems.

  • Perform mechanical repairs, rebuilds, and component replacements.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, fuel, ignition, and accessory systems.

  • Remove, install, and overhaul engines and marine equipment as needed.

  • Operate hydraulic jacks, hoists, and other shop equipment safely.

  • Advise customers on repair recommendations and maintenance needs.

  • Complete repair work accurately and within established timelines.

  • Conduct water testing and diagnostics on customer vessels when required.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.

Qualifications
  • Marine, automotive, diesel, small engine, or related mechanical experience preferred.

  • Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply.

  • Ideally 5+ years of hands-on repair experience.

  • Mercury certification or marine industry training is a plus.

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Ability to use service management software and repair documentation systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

  • Willingness to travel for training as needed.

Work Environment
  • Indoor and outdoor marine service environment.

  • Hands-on work involving engines, trailers, boats, and mechanical equipment.

  • Frequent lifting, bending, standing, and use of shop tools and equipment.
