Hybrid 2 days/WK in Washington, DC
Our client seeks a Business Analyst to support a federal assets forfeiture program that develops and enhances the Consolidated Asset Tracking System. The role focuses on requirements gathering, documentation, wireframes, and close collaboration with developers and government stakeholders. The analyst will translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications, support solution design, and contribute to continuous improvements across a hybrid SDLC environment.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active Public Trust clearance. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities:- Gather, analyze, and document detailed functional and technical requirements for web-based applications supporting asset tracking.
- Develop specification documents, analysis sheets, and presentation materials using established templates.
- Create and refine wireframes to guide solution design and developer implementation.
- Coordinate with developers, testers, operations, engineers, and client stakeholders to drive delivery.
- Perform benchmark needs analysis and requirements definition in selected functional areas.
- Support design, customization, and delivery of solutions training and technical presentations.
- Draft technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Assist with data development, analysis, and first-draft communications on portions of larger projects.
- Conduct application demonstrations and support client engagement activities.
- Execute database queries to troubleshoot issues and suggest database design changes that support proposed solutions.
- Seven or more years in technical requirements analysis or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to document functional and technical software requirements and obtain stakeholder consensus.
- Experience with application support and SDLC in hybrid environments.
- Effective written and oral communication skills with attention to detail and customer service orientation.
- Problem-solving capability with experience evaluating alternatives and recommending solutions.
- Exposure to SQL for troubleshooting is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, HTML, and Balsamiq wireframing preferred.
- Ability to work on-site weekly within a coordinated team schedule.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (MBI Level 5) as required by the program.
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
