Maintenance Mechanic | Salt Lake City, UT

Nexeo Staffing is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for a food manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. If you have hands-on experience repairing production equipment, machinery, conveyors, motors, or mechanical systems, we want to hear from you!

This is a full-time opportunity offering steady hours, overtime potential, and the chance to expand your industrial maintenance skills. Food manufacturing experience is helpful but not required—candidates from production, warehouse, automotive, mechanical, or other industrial environments are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and machinery
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical equipment issues
• Troubleshoot conveyors, motors, belts, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and help minimize production downtime
• Inspect, adjust, test, and repair industrial machinery
• Assist with equipment installations, changeovers, and production support
• Read equipment manuals, diagrams, and basic electrical schematics
• Document completed maintenance, inspections, and repairs
• Perform basic welding, fabrication, and facility repairs as needed
• Keep tools, parts, and work areas clean and organized
• Follow Lockout/Tagout, GMP, OSHA, and company safety procedures

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of mechanical, equipment-repair, or industrial maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability
• Experience repairing production machinery, conveyors, motors, or similar equipment
• Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely
• Ability to read equipment manuals and diagrams
• PLC troubleshooting, welding, or fabrication experience is helpful but not required
• Food or beverage manufacturing experience is a plus
• Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends when needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, kneel, climb, and walk throughout the shift
• Dependable, safety-focused, and able to respond quickly to equipment issues
• Diagnose Mechanical failures
• Diagnose electrical faults
• Analyze recurring equipment issues
• Tuning equipment to meet production standards
• Perform emergency repairs under production pressure
• Working on stainless steel equipment
• Food- Grade SanitationRequirements
• Maintain SQF (Safe Quality Food) compliance

Pay

$22.00–$24.00 per hour

Schedule

Full Time | Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–5:00 PM

Overtime, extended shifts, and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
