Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry / Cardio Thoracic

Location

Peoria, IL | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 70-bed Cardio Thoracic unit managing diagnoses including MI, CHF, A-fib, COPD, pacemaker/AICD placement, lung surgeries with chest tubes, and esophagectomy cases
• Perform continuous EKG interpretation and collaborate with monitor technicians using Philips telemetry monitoring systems
• Titrate drips including Cardizem and heparin per unit protocols
• Manage patients on CPAP, BiPAP (home regimen), and heated high-flow oxygen as applicable
• Float to other general medical units as needed
• Adhere to holiday rotation schedule and all unit-specific scheduling requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency in EKG interpretation and medication titration
• Competency in all basic nursing skills
• Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification (recommended)
• Prior experience in a telemetry, cardio thoracic, or cardiac step-down setting
• Familiarity with chest tube management and post-surgical cardiac or thoracic patients
