Job Title
Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Nights)
LocationSaint Louis, MO | Acute Care
Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13-Week Assignment | Nights (1900–0730) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend required | No call requirements
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards
- May be floated to other units depending on staffing needs
- Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and established nursing guidelines
- Current RN license — must meet criteria for licensure eligibility in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
- BLS certification from AHA only
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical experience
- Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- ACLS certification from AHA only
- Experience with EPIC EMR
- Familiarity with equipment including Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo enteral feeding pumps, wound vacs, SCD machines, PCA pumps, low air loss mattresses, and remote telemetry monitors
- Experience caring for GI, GU, wound care, acute withdrawal, altered mental status, dialysis/ESRD, and minor surgical patient populations
- Join a high-acuity, 30-bed Med Surg unit at a facility recognized for excellence in patient safety, stroke care, cardiac care, and trauma services
