Travel RN – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
• Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
• Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with established guidelines and the Missouri Nurse Practice Act
• Float as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit; every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold Missouri RN licensure
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical Surgical experience
• Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required for assignments running November 1 – April 1
• Must be available the entire first week for day-shift orientation (night shift travelers orient on days)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Experience with EPIC EMR
• Familiarity with equipment such as bladder scanners, vein finders, IV pumps, and wound vacs
• Strong teamwork, dependability, and flexibility in a fast-paced inpatient environment
