Bartender

Summary:
The Restaurant Bartender is responsible for creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere at the bar, crafting high-quality
beverages, and providing exceptional service to guests. This role involves mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks,
maintaining the bar area's cleanliness, and adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Beverage Preparation and Service:
Accurately prepare and serve a wide variety of cocktails, mixed drinks, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages
according to established recipes and standards.
Demonstrate knowledge of different drink categories, flavors, and preparation techniques.
Suggestively sell beverages and make recommendations to guests based on their preferences.
Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervene when necessary to prevent intoxication or underage
drinking.
Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including glassware, equipment, and supplies.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations when handling food and beverages.
Guest Service:
Greet guests promptly and courteously, making them feel welcome and comfortable.
Engage in friendly and professional conversation with guests, creating a positive atmosphere.
Answer guest inquiries about the menu, drink specials, and other relevant information.
Handle guest complaints or issues in a calm and professional manner, escalating to management when
necessary.
Operational Tasks:
Process guest orders and payments using the restaurant's POS system.
Maintain accurate inventory of bar supplies and notify management of any shortages.
Assist with opening and closing duties, including restocking supplies and cleaning the bar area.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications:
Age: Must be 18 years of age or older due to legal requirements for serving alcohol.
Experience: Previous bartending experience preferred, but not required. Willingness to learn and develop bartending
skills is essential.
Knowledge: Basic knowledge of different types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cocktail recipes, and bar
equipment.
Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure, strong
attention to detail, and basic math skills for handling payments.
Certifications: Must obtain any required certifications or permits for serving alcohol, as per local regulations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Manual dexterity for handling glassware and bar equipment.
Must be able to work in a hot and humid environment.
