Job Description
Driver - Per Diem. This position is eligible for applicable shift pay differentials.
The Driver will provide safe transport for patients to and from the campus, utilizing campus vehicles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide non-medical patient transport (NMPT) to and from Wellbridge property.
- Maintain vehicle maintenancelog; check vehicle for damage and problems daily, prior to use.
- Operatevehiclein a safe, responsiblemanner, follow all “rules of the road” and NYS and Wellbridge regulations. Keep the vehicle clean and trash free,schedule vehicle for carwash.
- Immediately notifysupervisor when involved in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) or an incidentregardingpatient pick up, drop off.
- In conjunction with maintenance and security, takes vehicle for repairs, routine maintenance, and annual state inspections.
- Maintain a safe and caring environment, delivering care in a culturally sensitive manner and consistent with Wellbridge mission, vision, and values

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
For patient care needs, this is an on-site role. Ability to operate the vehicle(s) safely, maintain operating and maintenance records. Must be able to remain in a seated stationary position for driving for various durations, and traverse between locations. Repeatedly ascend/descend stairs and frequently lift/carry/move packages/patient belongings up to 50 pounds. Clearly communicate and exchange information related to patient transport.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must produce and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with Wellbridge’s Driver Criteria Policy.
- Must meet all requirements and standards of Wellbridge’s Driver Criteria Policy upon hire and during employment.
- Previous experience working in medical/behavioral health field preferred.
- Valid CPR/BLS Certification
