Portable Sanitation Technician/ Driver

The Portable Sanitation Technician/ Driver is responsible for delivering, servicing, cleaning, and removing portable sanitation equipment while providing outstanding customer service. This role requires safely operating a service truck, servicing portable restrooms and handwashing stations, maintaining equipment, and ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company standards and environmental regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver, relocate, and retrieve portable restrooms, handwashing stations, holding tanks, and related sanitation equipment.
• Pump, clean, sanitize, and restock portable restroom units according to established service schedules.
• Perform routine inspections and minor repairs to portable sanitation equipment.
• Operate vacuum pumps, water systems, and service truck equipment safely and efficiently.
• Complete daily routes while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate service records using route sheets or electronic devices.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles.
• Report vehicle or equipment maintenance needs promptly.
• Follow all DOT regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies.
• Communicate professionally with customers and respond to service requests courteously.
• Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and work area.
• Assist with yard duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• CDL is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
• Previous experience in sanitation, route service, construction, delivery, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Repeated bending, climbing, kneeling, and reaching throughout the workday.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Comfortable working around sanitation equipment and waste while following proper safety procedures.
