Junior Estimator

About the Company

We're hiring a Junior Estimator to work in our new office in Chesapeake, VA. TDH Steel is a Structural Steel & Metals Fabrication company headquartered in Chesapeake, VA with offices in NC and SC.

About the Role

You will be gathering steel scope specs, reading blueprints, and building project estimates. You will complete quantity take-offs and summation of materials. Additionally, you will solicit trade partners, obtain bid estimates for drawings/detailing, and help prepare, organize and coordinate Request for Proposal documents for the Lead Estimator.

• Preparing, organizing and coordinating Request for Proposal documents for the Lead Estimator
• Handling miscellaneous requests to earn new business

Required Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or similar or equivalent experience

Required Skills

• Applicable mathematical skills
• Familiarity with building/estimating techniques
• Positive professional attitude
• Strong customer service skills

Preferred Skills

• At least one year of experience in construction or exposure to materials management or project operations.

Pay range and compensation package

Base range for this role is $55,000 to $60,000 annually. Pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience. Benefits are included and you must have authorization to work in the US.  We do not offer sponsorship for this role.
