About the Position

Our client is seeking a professional CDL A truck driver for a local, home-daily position in Memphis. Drivers will perform daytime pickup and delivery work, along with nighttime relay routes featuring drop-and-hook operations. New hires may begin on a night route or the extra board.

Pay & Schedule Details

• $1,280 guaranteed per week on an assigned route
• Up to $1,430 per week on the extra board
• Tuesday through Saturday schedule, with the possibility of working up to six days, including Sunday
• Typically 8–14 hours per day
• 40 hours per week
• Drivers are home daily
• Extra board drivers are on call for a full eight-hour period and must be able to respond and report within the required timeframes
• Monthly route bidding may result in assigned routes or on-call work when a route is not operating

Job Details

• Route Type: Local delivery

• Equipment: Manual-transmission trucks, three years old or newer
• Handling: No-touch freight
• Dedicated routes generally run 250–350 miles from the terminal
• All stops are time-sensitive with assigned pickup windows
• Slip-seat operation, with two drivers assigned to each dedicated route

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle
• Complete local pickup, delivery, and relay routes
• Secure freight properly
• Maintain communication with dispatch regarding routes, schedules, and issues
• Follow all applicable DOT regulations and company policies

Minimum Requirements

• 3+ years of recent, relevant, and verifiable driving experience
• Valid Class A CDL
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record with no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements
