Job Title: CDL DriverJob Description

This role involves safely transporting products between facilities and customer locations using steel-sided flatbed trucks and roll-off containers. You will load and unload materials, often metal products, and work both independently and as part of a team to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Responsibilities
  • Operate steel-sided flatbed trucks and roll-off container vehicles in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Transport products between company facilities and customer locations while following all traffic and safety regulations.
  • Load and unload products from trailers, working independently or with a team as needed.
  • Lift up to 60 lbs independently and coordinate assistance for heavier loads over 60 lbs.
  • Handle metal and metal recycling materials carefully to prevent damage and ensure safety.
  • Inspect vehicles before and after trips and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Follow assigned schedules and routes while ensuring on-time delivery of products.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, facility staff, and customers regarding deliveries and pickups.
Essential Skills
  • Valid Class A CDL license.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Class A or Class B CDL driving experience.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs independently and 100+ lbs with assistance.
  • Experience working with metal or in metal recycling environments.
  • Ability to safely operate flatbed trucks and roll-off containers.
  • Strong focus on safety and adherence to transportation regulations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience loading and unloading materials using flatbed or roll-off equipment.
  • Familiarity with handling and transporting metal products or scrap metal.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team when lifting or moving heavier loads.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with dispatch, coworkers, and customers.

Work Environment

You will work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. The position follows a first-shift schedule, with flexible start times between approximately 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. You are expected to complete at least 40 hours per week. The work involves operating steel-sided flatbed trucks and roll-off containers, handling metal and metal recycling materials, and performing physical tasks such as lifting and moving products.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $58240.00/yr.
