Step into a dynamic role supporting young learners as a contract School Psychologist for the 2026-2027 academic year. Spend each day making an impactful difference for Pre-K students, focusing on behavioral and transition support as they embark on their educational journey. In this position, you’ll play a key role in implementing the First Step Transition program, championing evidence-based behavioral interventions, and collaborating with both families and multidisciplinary professionals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing behavioral intervention services for Pre-K students to enhance school readiness, social-emotional growth, and classroom behavior.
  • Implementing the First Step Transition program through direct behavioral coaching, teacher consultation, and active progress monitoring.
  • Delivering early intervention and supporting smooth transitions for Pre-K students entering the school setting.
  • Consulting with teachers and engaging caregivers to maximize success for students.
  • Predominantly working with First Step Transition students and handling a typical caseload of roughly 70.
  • Participating in preschool evaluations alongside a multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Autism Consultants, and more.
  • Facilitating two-day assessments with children and parents, contributing to a collaborative and supportive evaluation process.

Desired qualifications:

  • Indiana School Psychologist certification or eligibility.
  • Prior experience in school psychology, especially with early childhood or Pre-K populations.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral intervention and transition support within a school setting.
  • Excellent communication skills with students, families, and professional staff.
  • Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment and adapt to evolving needs.
