Special Education Para Professional in Liberty, MO

Take on an engaging support role in an educational environment as a paraprofessional, serving schools across North Kansas City, Missouri. This flexible, contract-based position allows you to pick per diem assignments throughout the school year, providing essential support to students and classrooms on an as-needed basis from August 25 through May 28.

You’ll work across 33 schools, primarily elementary, assisting in SPED classrooms with students who may require behavioral support and personal care—including roles as a 1:1 aide or a classroom assistant. Shifts are available between 1 and 5 days per week; you’ll select assignments through a user-friendly app where you can view schedules and locations ahead of time.

Key Qualifications:

• Schools Paraprofessional experience or relevant skills
• Current Missouri substitute certificate through DESE (must be active before your start date; candidates in the process may apply)
• Willingness to complete fingerprints specific to school district requirements
• Experience (or interest in) working with students with behavior intervention plans (BIPs), personal care needs, and assisting in SPED environments
• Reliability and adaptability to work varied assignments each week

Responsibilities Include:

• Assisting teachers and school staff in SPED and general education settings
• Providing 1:1 or small group support for students with behavioral or personal care needs
• Supporting the implementation of behavior plans and routine classroom activities
• Responding to daily shift opportunities and maintaining flexibility with hours and locations

Assignments offer the freedom to choose your schedule, with per diem rates paid for actual time worked—$20.00 per hour.
