Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting early childhood education in a dynamic school environment. This contract role focuses on dedicated, 1:1 care for a student with specialized needs, emphasizing not only the educational journey but also daily well-being and engagement.

As a paraprofessional with certified nursing assistant experience, you will work closely with a young learner, ensuring safety, assisting in daily tasks such as feeding, transferring to specialized equipment, diapering, and encouraging active participation in classroom activities. Being vigilant and able to respond effectively to the student’s needs is crucial for success.

Key qualifications:

• Current Delaware Paraeducator Permit (required and must be in hand at the time of application)
• Active CNA certification and practical experience
• Previous work in early childhood or special needs settings preferred
• Ability to confirm availability for the full schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families
• Comfort and experience with transfers, feeding, diapering, and equipment usage

Responsibilities include:

• Providing attentive, compassionate 1:1 support throughout the school day
• Helping with mobility, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Prompting participation in classroom routines and activities
• Prioritizing student safety and well-being
• Keeping clear, thorough records and maintaining regular communication with the educational team
