Salary Range: $70,000.00 to $85,000.00

Summary:

SKF Aerospace is a first-tier supplier to the global aviation industry and much more. We design & manufacture complex, high performance, high-value bearings in steel and advanced ceramics. Our production group, technologies, & products are at the heart of aerospace industry and the world's leading aircraft jet engine & gearbox manufacturers at our Falconer, NY location.

Reports to Channel Manager and will:

  • Teach, coach and mentor approximately 30 front line employees in a union environment.
  • Champion LEAN manufacturing to achieve all quality, cost and customer service objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all fabrication & assembly-related production efforts from receipt of customer requirement through component delivery, assembly, final inspection, and processing through to the shipping department.
  • Optimize the utilization of all resources to include people, processes & equipment.
  • Manage channel operations according to the SKF Code of Conduct, Environment Health & Safety (EHS) practices, and the Quality Management System.
  • Maintains liaison with other manufacturing departments & guides the investigation, analysis and solution of problems of prime importance to the channel goals and the objectives of all phases of the manufacturing process.
  • Be comfortable working with collective bargaining units (union).

Job Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering or business-related discipline, and/or a combination of 5-7 years of experience and education in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace, heavy metal manufacturing. Supervisory experience in a high-tempo workplace preferred.
  • Proficient with computer software & related systems, well-developed written, verbal and communication skills.
  • Must have fundamental shop skills such as print reading, measurement techniques, and a working knowledge of industrial manufacturing.
