Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a Remote/Hybrid Civil Engineer for a Contract-to-Hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a licensed Civil or Structural Design Engineer who wants to stay deeply involved in technical design, calculations, 3D modeling, and construction documentation rather than moving into a purely management-focused position.
This position offers the opportunity to serve as a key technical contributor on complex civil and structural design projects. You will work closely with senior leadership, project teams, clients, and design technicians in a collaborative environment where strong technical judgment, quality work, and proactive communication are valued. The role is well suited for an engineer who enjoys solving design challenges, improving constructability, and directly influencing the final project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed civil and structural engineering calculations using tools such as Mathcad, spreadsheets, and other industry-standard methods.
- Lead Civil 3D design workflows, including site models, infrastructure layouts, grading, drainage, and related design elements.
- Provide technical direction to designers and CAD technicians to ensure contract drawings are accurate, complete, and aligned with engineering intent.
- Support permitting efforts by preparing, organizing, and reviewing technical documentation for local and state agency submittals.
- Apply hydraulic and hydrologic modeling knowledge to evaluate stormwater, utility, drainage, and site performance challenges.
- Serve as a technical communication point between project leadership, internal teams, and external clients.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $43 to $55 per hour.
- Employment type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: Remote / Hyrbid
