CNC Machinist
Job Description
This role focuses on setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes to produce high-quality parts to exact specifications. You will read and interpret G & M codes, blueprints, and engineering documentation, make program and machine adjustments, and ensure that all products meet quality and safety standards. The position requires strong technical machining skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with leadership and team members in a clean, safety-focused manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes to produce parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret G & M codes to run and adjust CNC programs accurately.
- Perform machine adjustments and offsets to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Program and edit CNC programs to ensure parts are manufactured to print and meet engineering requirements.
- Read and follow blueprints, diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications throughout the machining process.
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to perform quality inspections and verify part dimensions.
- Troubleshoot machine and process malfunctions and take corrective actions to restore proper operation.
- Ensure products are manufactured to specifications and meet all quality and performance requirements.
- Communicate product status, issues, and progress directly with management and relevant team members.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following established procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team goals by safely completing assigned tasks and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to promote a secure and efficient production environment.
Essential Skills
- At least 2+ years of experience working with CNC mills and CNC lathes.
- Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC mills and CNC lathes in a production environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Ability to read and work with G & M codes for CNC programming and operation.
- Experience making adjustments to CNC machine programs and offsets to maintain part quality.
- Hands-on experience using micrometers and calipers for dimensional inspection and quality verification.
- Strong CNC machining skills, including operation of mills and lathes with Fanuc or similar controls.
- Solid understanding of machining practices, including blueprint reading and general machining principles.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, operations manuals, and manufacturer’s documentation.
- Capability to troubleshoot machining issues and resolve basic equipment malfunctions.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on producing high-quality parts efficiently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience operating CNC mills and CNC lathes with Fanuc controls or comparable CNC control systems.
- Strong blueprint reading skills, including the ability to interpret dimensions, tolerances, and geometric features.
- Familiarity with using various precision measuring instruments beyond micrometers and calipers, such as indicators and gauges.
- Ability to edit and refine CNC programs to optimize performance and part quality.
- Comfort working from sketches, diagrams, and engineering specifications in a production environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing setting.
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach to machining.
- Good communication skills for interacting with management and coworkers regarding product progress and issues.

This is a Permanent position based out of Twinsburg, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
