Job Title: Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location: Great Falls, MT
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift: All Shifts Available
Salary Range: $60,000 – $85,000 annually

Position Overview

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse provides high-quality, compassionate care to patients who are hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable. This role involves managing a diverse patient population including post-PCI, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, and post-surgical cases. The RN will utilize advanced medical equipment and clinical judgment to monitor and respond to changes in patient conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning.
  • Monitor and manage patients with central lines, chest tubes, arterial lines, and short-term ventilatory support.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Precept and mentor new staff and act as a clinical leader on the unit.
  • Provide direction to LPNs, CNAs, and support staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to established protocols and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree from an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an advanced Medical/Surgical or Progressive Care setting.
  • Current Montana RN License (or ability to obtain upon acceptance).
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (or obtained within 6 months of hire).

Preferred Qualifications

  • EPNC and TNCC certifications.
  • Pediatric care experience.
  • Proficiency in EKG interpretation and cardiac telemetry.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to operate advanced medical equipment and multiple IV pumps.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support.
