Job Description
A rewarding opportunity is available for a dedicated professional to support the social and emotional growth of elementary students in the Winchester, NH area for the 2026–2027 school year. This contract position involves providing adjustment counseling services across multiple elementary schools, collaborating closely with educational teams, students, and families to foster student well-being and access to an enriching school experience.
In this role, you’ll be instrumental in delivering both responsive and rehabilitative support, enabling children to thrive academically and socially. The counselor’s responsibilities span four elementary schools, allocating time as follows: 20% at Franklin, 20% at Wheelock, 30% at Symonds, and 30% at Fuller, with a full-time commitment of 35 hours weekly from August 26, 2026, through June 15, 2027.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree and experience as a School Social Worker, School Psychologist, School Counselor, or Mental Health clinician with experience in a school environment
- Valid or eligible New Hampshire certification: School Counselor (NH 0040), School Psychologist (NH0046), Associate School Psychologist (NH0047), or School Social Worker (NH0049)
- Demonstrated ability to offer both direct counseling and consultative support for students
- Comfortable working collaboratively with educational teams across multiple school sites
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and a genuine passion for advocacy in child development
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to build effective support plans
- Deliver rehabilitative interventions to improve student engagement and achievement
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation
