What You'll TreatYou'll work with a diverse inpatient population including:
- Neurological conditions
- Orthopedic injuries
- Post-surgical patients
- Critical care
- Behavioral health
- General medical patients
As an Occupational Therapist, you'll help patients regain independence, improve function, and safely transition to the next stage of recovery.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluate and treat patients with a variety of acute care diagnoses
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
- Improve patients' ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, adaptive strategies, and discharge recommendations
- Document care using EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and rehabilitation professionals
- Maintain clinical, departmental, and regulatory standards
- Foster a collaborative, patient-first care environment
QualificationsRequired
- Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Current Maryland Occupational Therapy license (or eligibility)
- American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Acute care or hospital experience
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
- Experience with EMR documentation
