CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline overlooking Corpus Christi Bay is the largest and foremost acute care medical facility in the region, with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. It is the leading emergency facility in the area with a Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency services.

Summary:
\nUsing discretion and independent judgment, the Clinical Liaison serves as the primary liaison to designated health care facilities, maintaining communication and performing on-site patient evaluations. The Clinical Liaison is actively involved in Marketing by one-to-one contacts and professional education. This position does require interaction with adult and geriatric patients. Age-specific experience and/or special training and/or expertise is required to serve this population. The Clinical Liaison shall meet criteria as outlined in the departmental competency shills check list. Involves provision of patient care/service to older adolescent, young adult, adult, and geriatric patients.

- Demonstrates positive, informative interaction with ancillary departments, co-workers, and physicians. \n
- Demonstrates positive informative interaction with patients and families. \n
- Demonstrates positive informative interaction with health care professionals and potential referral sources. \n
- Uses effective, proper telephone communication during telemarketing calls, family and patient contact. \n
- Serves as a multi-disciplinary resource person for customers while displaying professionalism and maintaining confidentiality. \n
- Presents evaluations at daily interdisciplinary admissions team meetings and as needed complete and informative \n
\n - Admission Referrals\n

- Initiates most of the Interdisciplinary Admission assessment once the patient is deemed appropriate for admission. \n
- Works in collaboration with the Business Office personnel, ensures all necessary pre-admission paperwork, insurance verifications and other matters are completed prior to admission. \n
- Accepts incoming calls and answers questions regarding referrals, if necessary. \n
- Receives referrals and arranges evaluations; reviews chart; obtains financial information as necessary from chart. \n
- Assesses patient's suitability for hospitalization. \n
- Interviews patient and family to gather information and determine special needs. \n
- Adheres to admission criteria; presents potential patients for approval at admission screening. \n
- Coordinates business and medical information with facility departments prior to patient admission. \n
- Coordinates pertinent data with admitting office personnel; interprets relevant facility policies to patient and family (ex. Financial information, patient handbook.) \n

- Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling daily activities to ensure maximum market penetration of territory. \n
- Exhibits at conferences and/or sales/marketing events to inform health care providers and the community of the DHS. \n
- Reinforces awareness and understanding of long term acute care and Dubuis Hospital among the medical community and general public. \n
- Participates in community activities, promoting the hospital. \n
- Identifies customers and makes calls to appropriate referral sources including payer. \n
- Makes daily contacts with area hospitals re: vacancies via fax/phone. \n
- Generates monthly report of contacts. \n

- Designs and generates reports relative to patient demographics, market share, and significant trends. \n
- Conducts marketing research and analysis activities to ensure that the hospital is competitive in the marketplace, on a local, regional, and national basis. \n
- Provides data for use in feasibility studies. \n
- Provides data for use in strategic and operational planning for Dubuis Health System. \n

Requirements:
\nEducation/Skills
\n- \n
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing \n
Experience
\n- \n
- Three to Five years experience in insurance, utilization review or case management preferred. \n
- Requires the ability to work independently and to prioritize responsibilities; an outgoing personality, assertiveness, the ability to deal with various levels of clients; and effective verbal and written communication skills. \n
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

- Current Texas State RN license \n
- CPR (American Heart Association) \n
- CCRN, Rehabilitation Certification or Critical Certification preferred \n
