Job Description
\n Client will not consider Medical Lab Technicians Traveler Candidates
\n Your traveler will be expected to:
\n Work independently within two weeks of start date AND in a team setting
\n Obtain blood specimens
\n Maintain knowledge of specific specimen requirements
\n Follow correct order of draw based upon tube type and special handling of tests
\n Utilize proper resources for obtaining specimen requirement information
\n Collect and enter off-site blood work into system
\n Complete and process a variety of forms
\n Obtain pre-authorization and patient signature
\n Prepare specimens for in-lab testing or off-site shipment
\n Ensure blood-drawing stations are clean and well stocked
\n Patient Population: Pediatric to Geriatric
\n EMR: Cerner
\n Dress Code: Personal Scrubs of any color
\n Trauma Level: Critical Access Hospital
\n Requested time off during the course of this assignment MUST be noted and verified at upload. RTO REQUESTS AFTER UPLOAD/DURING INTERVIEW WILL NOT BE APPROVED!! NO MORE THAN 5 DAYS OF RTO WILL BE ACCEPTED (less is better).
\n Mt. Ascutney will not consider any candidate who resides within 50 miles of facility. To avoid delays in processing, please provide perm address at profile upload.
\n Every other Wednesday, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
\n You work a 12.5-hour overnight shift every second Wednesday.
\n Every other Friday–Tuesday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
\n Every other week, you work five consecutive daytime shifts:
\n Friday: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
\n Saturday: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
\n Sunday: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
\n Monday: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
\n Tuesday: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
\n Client will not consider MLT Traveler Candidates
\n BLOCK SCHEDULING/SCHEDULE ACCOMMODATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS NEED!
\n Minimum 2 years current Medical Technologist/MT/MLS experience - [Required]
\n National Certification (NCCT NOT Accepted) - [Required]
\n ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY/HIT THE GROUND RUNNING - REQUIRED
\n HIGH PROFICIENCY IN TESTING IN ALL AREAS OF LAB (MUST BE AN MT "GENERALIST") - [REQUIRED]
\n High proficiency in PHLEBOTOMY, chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, and read Gram stains/plate culture specimens in microbiology. [Required]
\n PHLEBOTOMY/VENIPUNCTURE EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED - PHLEBOTOMY CHECKLIST [REQUIRED]!
\n Travel experience – [Strongly preferred]
\n This is a small community without public transport. Traveler candidate must have their own vehicle. This is a firm requirement.
