Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 3 years of experience and night shift availability.

Details\n

\n
• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital environment
\n
• Patient population includes neonates and adults
\n
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 6:00pm to 6:30am
\n
• Weekend coverage required every 3rd weekend
\n
• Uses Pyxis medication system
\n
• Uses Meditech documentation system
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active IL RN license currently in hand
\n
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
\n
• Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
\n
• Meditech charting experience preferred
\n
• Skilled in NST, OCT, and sterile vaginal exams
\n
• Experience in triage of obstetrical patients
\n
• Proficient in use of EFM and spiral electrode placement
\n
• Experience with external and internal fetal monitoring
\n
• Skilled in IUPC placement and calibration
\n
• Ability to recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
\n
• Experience administering blood and blood products
\n
• Skilled in drawing venous blood and starting/maintaining peripheral IVs
\n
• Experience with infusion pumps, drips, and IV monitoring
\n
• Experience circulating and recovering C-sections
\n
• Experience with epidural anesthesia management
\n

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum management and pain management support
\n
• Scrubs are provided
\n
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
\n
