Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Float Pool)

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Provide direct patient care within a PCU/IMC float pool covering multiple specialty units including General, Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
  • \n
  • Titrate and manage cardiac drips and other titratable medications including dopamine, dobutamine, cardizem, amiodarone, ativan, insulin, and heparin
  • \n
  • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4 based on patient acuity, caring for an adult and geriatric population with a wide range of diagnoses
  • \n
  • Float throughout assigned units within the zone as directed by leadership to fill scheduling gaps; flexibility across acuity levels including ICU holds, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele is required
  • \n
  • Work within a 6-week leadership-driven schedule, fulfilling weekend requirements of 6–9 shifts per 6-week block and participating in holiday rotation as needed
  • \n
  • Complete a 1–2 day unit-specific orientation with a preceptor; clinicians must be present in state for the full week of orientation
  • \n
Required Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Active RN licensure valid in the state of Colorado
  • \n
  • Minimum 2 years of PCU/IMC experience
  • \n
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • \n
  • Demonstrated experience with cardiac drips, insulin, and ativan administration and titration
  • \n
  • Valid driver's license required; candidate must be able to support floating within a 60-mile radius zone
  • \n
Preferred Experience / Skills\n
    \n
  • Prior neuro nursing experience strongly preferred
  • \n
  • Experience with Epic electronic health records preferred
  • \n
  • Familiarity with RT equipment including ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP
  • \n
