Key Responsibilities\n

\n
• Provide direct patient care in a Step Down / PCU setting, managing a diverse patient population including sepsis, CHF, COPD, DKA, cirrhosis, dementia, and surgical cases (urology, abdominal, ortho)
\n
• Initiate, titrate, and monitor drips including insulin, heparin, and cardiac drips
\n
• Perform telemetry interpretation and pass required tele competency assessments
\n
• Float within skillset as needed, including potential cross-campus float with a minimum of 2 hours notice
\n
• Adhere to every third weekend and every other holiday rotation requirements
\n
• May be required to precept nursing students and new hires as this is a teaching facility
\n

Required Qualifications\n

\n
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year of Step Down / PCU experience
\n
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
\n
• Current active compact RN license
\n
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
\n
• Recent Epic EMR experience required
\n
• Demonstrated ability to interpret telemetry and manage drips (insulin, heparin, cardiac)
\n

Preferred Experience / Skills\n

\n
• Experience with PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, CBI, continuous BiPap, and blood product administration
\n
• Familiarity with stable home vents, stable drips (Lasix, Protonix), and neutropenic precautions
\n
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
\n
• Collaborative, team-oriented attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
\n
