American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I Trauma unit requiring at least 3 years of critical care experience and an active FL or compact RN license.

- Work in the ICU of a Level I Trauma and Stroke center \n
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM \n
- 13-week assignment length \n
- Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 \n
- Every other weekend (EOW) rotation required \n
- Floating as needed \n
- Holiday coverage as needed \n
- Cerner charting system preferred \n
- \n
- Active FL or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration \n
- BLS and ACLS certification via AHA required \n
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of consideration \n
- Minimum 3 years of recent critical care experience with acute and chronically ill patients required \n
- Trauma and Neuro ICU experience required \n
- Level I Trauma experience required \n
- Epic experience required \n
- Degree from an accredited nursing school required, or a degree from an FBON-approved institution plus 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience within a US hospital in the past 24 months \n
- Charge RN and Neuro ICU experience preferred \n
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care \n
- Experienced in respiratory/thoracic care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, and suctioning (ETT, NT) \n
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips \n
- Proficient in isolation precautions and PPE use \n
- Must complete Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review \n
- Proof of vaccination status required for consideration, with no declinations allowed \n
- \n
- Provide critical care nursing to trauma and stroke ICU patients with complex, high-acuity needs \n
- Work within a smoke-free facility \n
- Must pass a basic arrhythmia/EKG competency assessment, achieving 100% on lethal rhythms and 83% overall; a retake is allowed within 24 hours if needed \n
- Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a lower pay rate \n
- Former permanent employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler \n
- Candidates from Operation Nightingale nursing schools are not accepted \n
- First-time travelers are not specified as accepted for this role \n
