What You'll TreatYou'll primarily work with adults experiencing:
- Stroke
- Parkinson's disease
- Traumatic brain injury
- Neurological disorders
- Head & neck cancer
- Cognitive-communication disorders
- Voice disorders
- Swallowing disorders (dysphagia)
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you'll help patients regain communication, cognition, swallowing function, and independence.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluate and treat adult neurological and oncology patients
- Develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based speech and swallowing therapy
- Document treatment using EMR
- Educate patients and caregivers
- Collaborate with PTs, OTs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Help expand neuro and oncology rehabilitation services within the clinic and community
QualificationsRequired
- Graduate of a CAA-accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
- Maryland SLP license (or eligibility)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Minimum one year of outpatient neurological rehabilitation experience
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- LSVT LOUD® certification or willingness to obtain
- Head & Neck Cancer rehabilitation experience
- Interest in specialty program development
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
