Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, fast-paced Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department with 20 beds, 5 trauma bays, 10 OBS beds, and a 6-bed Fast Track area
  • \n
  • Manage and care for patients presenting with trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and stroke including TPA administration
  • \n
  • Administer and monitor all common drips associated with a Level I Trauma environment
  • \n
  • Independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips and telemetry
  • \n
  • Float to the OBS unit and a freestanding Emergency Room location at least once per week
  • \n
  • Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, and ancillary staff including nurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics
  • \n
Required Qualifications\n
    \n
  • Active RN license
  • \n
  • Recent experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center (required)
  • \n
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
  • \n
  • Ability to pass a facility-administered open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
  • \n
  • Ability to read and independently interpret cardiac monitor strips
  • \n
  • Compliance with facility infection control policies, including prohibition of artificial nails in all patient care areas
  • \n
Preferred Experience / Skills\n
    \n
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
  • \n
  • Experience working in a Pediatric-certified or Comprehensive Stroke Center emergency environment
  • \n
  • Familiarity with trauma bay workflows and 1:1 ICU/trauma patient ratios
  • \n
