\n Required Qualifications
\n Medical Physicist, Radiation Oncology
\n Experience: 3 years 3 months
\n ******MUST BE ABR board certified physicists CR board certified physicists*****
\n Candidates with a doctoral degree (PhD) in a field other than Medical Physicist, Radiation Oncology a must also have completed a CAMPEP (Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs) accredited Medical Physics certificate program to qualify.
\n Ensures the safe and effective use of radiation in treatment while working within established protocols. Works closely with radiation
\n oncologists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists to support patient and staff safety. Provides clinical support in developing and verifying
\n radiation therapy plans, and assists with routine measurements and basic performance checks of therapeutic radiation equipment. Maintains
\n radiation safety practices and builds foundational skills in medical physics.
\n Job Description Description
\n Provides quality therapeutic medical physics support within a collaborative team of radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists,
\n and radiation therapists. Works within established protocols to ensure the safe and effective use of radiation in treatment. Assists with
\n treatment planning and delivery processes, supports the implementation of new technologies, and contributes to departmental policies,
\n procedures, and quality initiatives. Participates in the systemwide medical physics QA/QC program by performing routine measurements,
\n equipment checks, data collection, and documentation in alignment with AAPM/ASTRO/ACR/ACRO standards while building competency.
\n Performs all Virginia Department of Health and North Carolina Radioactive Materials licenses regulatory tasks at their required frequency
\n and maintains accurate records of equipment tests results, daily, weekly, monthly, semiannually and annual surveys, radiopharmaceutical
\n ordering, receiving, administration and waste disposal.
\n Maintains strict adherence to radiation safety policies and demonstrates ongoing professional development toward ABR certification
