Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience and an active IL RN license.

  • Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
  • \n
  • 13-week contract assignment
  • \n
  • Day shift schedule, 7a to 5p, 4 days per week (40 hours), with a floating day off
  • \n
  • On-call responsibilities for weekend shifts
  • \n
  • Holiday coverage required including on-call and worked rotation
  • \n
  • No floating requirements to other units
  • \n
  • Uses EPIC charting system
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing
  • \n
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • \n
  • Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
  • \n
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • \n
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • \n
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Responsible for providing pre-, intra-, and post-operative nursing care for surgical patients
  • \n
  • Prepares OR suite with necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures
  • \n
  • Performs patient identification, safety timeouts, and appropriate positioning/prepping for surgical procedures
  • \n
  • Supports the surgical team during procedures by responding to requests for supplies, blood, specimens, and other needs
  • \n
  • Transports patients to and from PACU or designated units and provides handoff report to receiving RN
  • \n
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
  • \n
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • \n
  • Returning contingent workers must take a 6-month break in service after 1 year of continuous assignment before returning to this health system
  • \n
