Job Description
Newaygo County Mental Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated FULL-Time Outpatient Therapist to provide high-quality mental health services to adults and children.. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in our community.
Position SummaryThe Outpatient Therapist will provide assessment and psychotherapy services in an office-based setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals affected by trauma, mental health conditions, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Experience working with youth and familiarity with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Substance Use Disorder are preferred.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide individual and family assessments and therapy sessions.
Develop and implement person-centered treatment plans.
Utilize evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
Support clients in identifying barriers and developing strategies for success.
Use de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques when appropriate.
Education: Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling (MSW, MA) required.
Licensure: LLPC, LPC, LLMSW, LMSW, or LLP with appropriate State of Michigan licensure.
Preferred: CAADC or Development Plan candidate.
Experience: Working with youth, individuals with co-occurring disorders, and trauma-informed care approaches.
Skills: Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities; proficient computer skills.
Other Requirements: Valid Michigan driver’s license.
Salary: $62,145–$77,182 based on licensure & experience
