About This Role

We are seeking a compassionate professional to join our team as a daycare staff member. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and educational environment for children, promoting their development through play and structured activities while ensuring their well-being. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 9am to 6pm. We are willing to train those who want to learn. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with young children and are eager to learn and grow with our team.



What You'll Do

Duties

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children in our care, maintaining a secure and healthy environment.
  • Implement the SUTQ rules in infant classrooms and other classrooms as needed, following established protocols.
  • Design and lead age-appropriate educational activities that foster learning and development in our young students.
  • Assist with daily routines such as meals, naps, and personal hygiene, helping our children feel secure and cared for.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, setting the stage for learning and growth.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Manage classroom behavior using effective techniques, creating a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Provide first aid when necessary and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, demonstrating our commitment to the well-being of our children.
  • Support children with special needs or developmental challenges, adapting our approach to meet their unique needs.
  • Assist with classroom coverage and be prepared to go into any classroom when needed.
  • Act as a relief teacher for the lead infant teacher when required.


Requirements

Experience

  • Familiarity with infant through school age care practices and early childhood education principles is highly valued, with previous experience in a daycare or educational setting being preferred.
  • Skills in first aid, classroom management, nannying, babysitting, or special education are highly desirable.
  • A passion for educating young minds and creating a positive learning environment is crucial for success in this role, with a CDA or degree in ECE or CPL 3 being preferred but not necessary.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations, as well as experience in managing classroom behavior, are also highly valued.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid would also be highly valued, as would prior experience working with young children.
