Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse - Now Hiring

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Minnesota license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <80 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Sanford Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Sanford Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - Ability to monitor tele patients.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Experience with ortho patients highly preferred.

Special Requests: - Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, and teaching facility. - Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. - At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job. - Previous Sanford Health, Good Samaritan Society, and Marshfield Clinic Health System employees must have a full 6 months off before submission. - Previous employment with Sanford Health, Good Samaritan Society, or Marshfield Clinic Health System must be disclosed within the submission for a DNU check. - Skills checklist cannot contain any N/As; all lines must have a numerical rating.

Unit Details: - Medical, surgical, and ortho patients; occasional behavioral health patients. - Responsibilities include admits and discharges. - Procedures include chest tube management, trach care, assisting with paracentesis or thoracentesis, and caring for behavioral health patients with a medical emergency. - Support staff includes a ward secretary and nursing aides as needed. - Uses AccuDose, EZ Stand, Hoyer Lift, Overbed Lift, SCDs, glucometers, and Space Labs vitals machines. - Patient ratios: Days 4-5:1; nights 5-6:1.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend and holiday.

Floating Requirements: - Float only if not needed on Med Surg; potential float units include Telemetry, Observation, Acute Rehab, and rarely Post-Partum. - Per union contracts, travelers float first. - If floated to OB, CCU, or ICU, assignment would be Med Surg overflow or 1:1 sitter care; in OB, care is for stable postpartum moms and the OB RN completes assessments outside Med Surg RN training, such as fundal checks.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
