Maintenance Technician (Temporary)
Position: Maintenance Technician
Job Type: Temporary
Start Date: August 10, 2026
End Date: To Be Determined
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday | 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
On-Call: Occasional after-hours emergency calls required
Dress Code: Polo shirt with khakis or jeans
Parking: Free onsite parking available
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and upkeep of a residential community's common areas and facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in building and grounds maintenance, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to respond to routine and emergency maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Technical or vocational training in building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in general building or grounds maintenance.
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and general repair work.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the property.
- Replace light bulbs and repair lighting fixtures as needed.
- Maintain heating equipment, including replacing filters and assisting with repairs and installations.
- Assist with work projects by obtaining materials and supporting scheduled maintenance activities.
- Complete general building repairs, including:
- Reattaching loose fixtures
- Repairing gutters and downspouts
- Replacing hinges
- Tightening posts and lighting fixtures
- Performing balcony repairs
- Completing minor roof repairs, including shingle replacement
- Maintaining interior and exterior common areas
- Perform snow and ice removal from walkways, entrances, and steps using snow removal equipment and hand tools.
- Apply ice melt and calcium chloride during icy conditions.
- Maintain maintenance equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Complete and return daily work orders documenting all completed tasks.
- Report unusual or unsafe conditions promptly to the supervisor.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls as required.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with residents, contractors, vendors, and team members.
- Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding maintenance tasks.
- Sufficient vision, with or without corrective lenses, to safely perform maintenance work and read written instructions.
