Job Description
Step into a pivotal Special Education teaching opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year, working onsite and directly supporting middle school learners in a resource room setting. This contract assignment focuses on grades 6-8, offering both full-time (strongly preferred) and part-time scheduling options to fit your needs and lifestyle.
As the onsite Special Education Teacher for this middle school caseload, you will build meaningful relationships with students, providing tailored instruction and fostering individual growth throughout the academic year. The position runs from August 28, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a friendly and collaborative school team ready to welcome your expertise.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Maine Department of Education 282 Endorsement (Special Education) is required
- Previous experience in a resource room setting is highly desirable
- Strong ability to differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborative approach to working with staff, students, and families
Key Responsibilities:
