We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations and provide reliable financial leadership for a growing organization in Denver, Colorado. This role will guide core financial processes, strengthen reporting accuracy, and help leaders make informed business decisions. The ideal candidate brings deep technical accounting expertise, strong command of revenue recognition standards, and a proven ability to build disciplined, high-performing accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
• Direct daily accounting activities across the general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and period-end close processes to ensure accurate records and timely completion.
• Produce and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, delivering clear and dependable reporting for leadership and stakeholders.
• Apply U.S. GAAP and relevant technical accounting standards, including ASC 606, to support compliant treatment of revenue and other key transactions.
• Establish and enhance accounting policies, workflows, and internal control practices that promote consistency, compliance, and risk management.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and variance analysis efforts to support financial planning and operational decision-making.
• Oversee external audit preparation, tax coordination, and required regulatory submissions while serving as a primary contact for outside partners.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to translate financial results into actionable insights that support strategy, performance improvement, and growth.
• Manage, coach, and develop accounting team members, setting clear expectations and encouraging a strong culture of accountability.
• Assess accounting systems and reporting processes, recommending improvements that increase efficiency, visibility, and data accuracy.• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
• At least 10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including people leadership responsibility.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and hands-on experience applying ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance.
• Demonstrated background in financial reporting, internal controls, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Experience coordinating audits and partnering effectively with external auditors and tax professionals.
• Advanced proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to perform effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
