USPRO Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Welder II to join a premier defense manufacturing organization in Aiken, SC. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the production of mission-critical products that directly support the safety and effectiveness of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality GMAW and GTAW welding on aluminum and carbon steel components in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and welding procedures.
- Set up, load, and secure components using fixtures, hand tools, air tools, and ratchets prior to welding operations.
- Inspect completed weldments to ensure compliance with quality standards and product specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, work orders, and technical documentation to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Troubleshoot welding and production issues, identify root causes, and implement or recommend corrective actions.
- Safely operate material handling equipment including hoists, pallet jacks, and forklifts to transport materials and finished components.
- Complete production documentation including work orders, labor reporting, quality records, and related manufacturing documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with training and mentoring other team members as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams to achieve manufacturing objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of manufacturing operations.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical welding training from an accredited vocational school, technical college, or recognized welding program (such as Hobart Institute or ArcLabs).
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on welding experience using GMAW and/or GTAW processes on aluminum and/or carbon steel.
- Ability to successfully pass welding qualification tests for both steel and aluminum using GMAW-P and GTAW processes.
- Working knowledge of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), weld gauges, and precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical work instructions.
- Strong understanding of shop mathematics and dimensional measurement.
- Experience making machine, fixture, and tooling adjustments to ensure product quality.
- Ability to safely lift up to 32 pounds and apply up to 32 pounds of torque using hand tools.
- Ability to safely operate hoists, pallet jacks, and forklifts (forklift certification required upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience welding products within aerospace, defense, heavy equipment, or precision manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with military or government manufacturing quality standards.
- Experience working within Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement environments.
- Previous experience producing complex welded assemblies with tight quality requirements.
