Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist
Location: Lakewood, OH

Assignment: 3–6 Months, Onsite
Pay: $20–$25/hour
Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Job Summary
Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Stanley Engineered Fastening team in Lakewood, OH. In this role, you will ensure our products consistently meet customer requirements, engineering expectations, and strict quality standards. You will be responsible for inspecting production parts, maintaining quality documentation, identifying nonconforming products, and supporting our commitment to continuous improvement and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect production parts to blueprints, written specifications, and established quality standards.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections using inspection gauges, measurement tools, micrometers, calipers, tensile testers, hardness testers, Keyence systems, and optical comparators.
- Accurately complete inspection reports and maintain quality records within the QMS.
- Communicate nonconformances and assist with root cause investigations.
- Conduct functional tests, equipment checks, tool inspections, audits, and other quality verification activities.
- Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming products.
- Support problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Perform overtime and other tasks as required.
Safety Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Promote safe work practices and embrace Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) principles.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify and promptly report safety concerns or hazards.
Quality & Lean Responsibilities
- Ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements through inspection and testing.
- Support corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Help identify and resolve quality issues affecting production.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives (6S, 6S 360, SMED).
- Follow standardized work instructions and First-In-First-Out (FIFO) practices.
- Assist with improving equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, production, or quality inspection preferred.
- Experience within automotive, fastener, or similar industries is a plus.
- Familiarity with quality systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, etc.) preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and effectively use inspection measuring tools.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Effective communicator and team player.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
