Job Description
A healthcare company is looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to support a high-volume surgery center in Orange, California. This Medical Records Clerk position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working with both paper and electronic records and can keep files organized in a fast-paced clinical setting. The Medical Records Clerk in this role will help maintain accurate record storage, support daily document handling, and contribute to smooth medical records operations,
Key Responsibilities:
• Organize, sort, and file patient charts and related documentation with a high level of accuracy.
• Retrieve records as needed to support staff requests and daily department workflows.
• Maintain orderly medical record storage systems for both physical files and electronic documentation.
• Review documents for proper classification and place materials in the correct location based on established filing methods.
• Assist with record management tasks that support the department during a 2-3 month contract assignment.
• Use electronic medical record systems such as Allscripts and Cerner to locate, verify, and manage patient information.
• Ensure confidential health information is handled in accordance with privacy and security standards.

Qualifications:
• Previous office or administrative experience in a detail-oriented setting.
• Demonstrated ability to alphabetize, organize, and manage files efficiently.
• Familiarity with medical records processes and patient chart documentation.
• Experience working with electronic medical record platforms, including Allscripts or Cerner.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy with repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday during standard daytime business hours.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
