Bring your passion for teaching and expertise in special education to a dynamic K-12 school environment in beautiful Vermont. This full-time contract role focuses on supporting a 3rd and 4th grade caseload of 15-20 students, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a significant, positive impact on young learners.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children, especially 3rd and 4th graders
  • Strong knowledge of IEP processes and accommodations
  • Ability to create differentiated lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, general education staff, and specialists
  • Organizational strengths for managing documentation and case files

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for each student on the caseload
  • Deliver engaging instruction in small group and one-on-one settings
  • Modify general curriculum as needed to ensure accessibility
  • Collect and evaluate data to monitor progress toward IEP goals
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to coordinate services
  • Communicate regularly with families, updating on student progress and strategies for support
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in line with state and federal guidelines
