Laundry Attendant - Now Hiring

The following Core Responsibilities represent the primary duties and key priorities of this position. They are grouped into two categories: Job Functions and Professionalism and Style Expectations. A Physical Requirements section follows, outlining expectations applicable to all positions. Each responsibility is assigned a weight indicating the percentage of the job it represents. For performance evaluations, the Core Responsibilities account for 90% of the overall score, while the Professionalism and Style Expectations make up the remaining 10%. Availability including nights, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts is required. Job Function Laundry Operations and Linen Management Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment to clean hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and other washable items. Sort, inspect, wash, dry, fold, and organize laundry according to hotel standards and established procedures. Ensure all linens and uniforms meet quality standards before being returned to service. Identify and report damaged, stained, or worn linens and uniforms to the appropriate supervisor. Maintain proper inventory and organization of clean linens, towels, uniforms, and laundry supplies. Deliver clean linens and uniforms to designated housekeeping and departmental storage areas as needed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room, equipment, and storage areas. Safely operate laundry equipment and properly handle detergents, chemicals, and other cleaning products in accordance with safety guidelines. Monitor laundry equipment for proper operation and report maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions promptly. Follow established procedures for handling soiled linens and contaminated materials. Support housekeeping operations by ensuring an adequate supply of clean linens is available throughout each shift. Assist with opening and closing procedures for the laundry department. Respond promptly to supervisor requests. Follow all hotel policies and procedures. Attend all required meetings and trainings. Assist with additional housekeeping or operational duties as assigned. Professionalism and Style Expectations Personal Effectiveness Complete tasks accurately, efficiently, and with attention to detail. Adapt to varying business levels in a fast-paced laundry environment. Take responsibility for maintaining quality, cleanliness, and productivity standards. Present a professional appearance and maintain hygiene standards. Work collaboratively with housekeeping staff and other hotel departments. Communication Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and management. Follow instructions and ask for clarification when necessary. Share relevant information regarding equipment issues, linen inventory, supply needs, or safety concerns. Treat co-workers, supervisors, and guests with respect at all times. Physical Requirements These are required of every associate: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds. Ability to push and pull loaded laundry carts throughout the hotel. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to safely operate commercial laundry equipment and handle laundry chemicals. Ability to work in a warm, humid, and fast-paced environment. Ability to hear, write, and communicate effectively. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Additional Responsibilities Specific to This Position Must possess a basic understanding of commercial laundry operations and proper fabric care techniques. Must have a working knowledge of safe chemical handling and OSHA safety guidelines. Ability to identify damaged linens and maintain established quality standards. High school education or equivalent experience is preferred. Previous hotel laundry or commercial laundry experience is preferred but not required. Ability to obtain any required safety certifications in a timely manner. CPR certification is preferred; first aid training is a plus. Additional language proficiency is preferred.
