American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level III NICU position requiring 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in NICU specialty and a CA RN license.

- Work in a Level III NICU averaging 190 births per month within an acute care hospital \n
- Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM \n
- Every other weekend required, with potential for additional weekends to meet unit needs \n
- No floating between units required \n
- No on-call responsibilities \n
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3 \n
- Uses Epic charting system \n
- Cares for neonates ranging from under 24-28 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation \n
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 week period \n

- Active CA RN license required in hand at time of submission \n
- Required certifications: BLS and NRP (Advanced NRP preferred, may allow candidates willing to obtain advanced certification before start) \n
- PALS certification required \n
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with at least 1 year in NICU specialty \n
- Candidates with less than 2 years overall RN experience but with Level IV NICU experience may be considered \n
- Community hospital experience required \n
- Epic EMR experience required \n
- Prior travel nursing experience required, though candidates with 2+ years of NICU experience without travel experience may be considered \n
- Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal medication administration \n
- Experience with respiratory support including CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ventilator management, and oxygen delivery systems required \n
- Knowledge of APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and neonatal abstinence syndrome required \n
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration \n

- Provide comprehensive NICU nursing care including high-risk delivery attendance, developmental care, and patient/family education \n
- Perform specialized procedures such as lumbar puncture assistance, phlebotomy, and management of NEC and gastroschisis/omphalocele cases \n
- Support respiratory care including management of oscillators, nitric oxide therapy, and therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket) \n
- Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; scrubs provided for L&D/OR staff \n
- Free parking available on-site \n
- First-time travelers accepted for this position \n
- Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower bill rate \n
- Travelers must reside outside a 50 mile radius to qualify for standard travel rate \n
- May be required to float between sister facilities within the same health system \n
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) \n
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for approval consideration \n
- Former permanent employees of the health system may return as travelers after a 3 month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50 mile radius of the facility \n
