American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring at least 2 years of critical care experience and prior travel nursing experience.

- Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting \n
- Patient ratio of 1:2 \n
- Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 0700-1900 \n
- Weekend shifts required \n
- Required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed \n
- Epic charting system preferred \n
- \n
- Active RN license in South Carolina (SC) or compact license required, no pending licenses accepted \n
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) \n
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required \n
- Prior travel nursing experience required \n
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred \n
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and care of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure \n
- Experience with arterial line and central line care/management \n
- Proficient in IV therapy, continuous IV sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips \n
- Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs) \n
- Skilled in ETT and NT suctioning \n
- Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE protocols \n
- Two supervisory references required for consideration \n
- Copy of certifications required for consideration \n

- Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response \n
- Manage patients requiring advanced interventions such as arterial lines, central lines, and ventilator support \n
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility, or local candidates accepted at local rate \n
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 5 years to be eligible as a traveler \n
- Keep requests for time off to a minimum, especially during the first two weeks of the assignment or for full weeks off during the contract \n
- Any time-off requests must be approved and documented prior to the start of the assignment \n
- Some holiday coverage expected during the assignment \n
