American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring a compact/MD RN license and strong critical care background in trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro patient populations.

- Work in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit treating trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro patients \n
- Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio \n
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00 \n
- Every other weekend (EOW) requirement \n
- No on-call responsibilities \n
- Float to IMC as needed based on facility needs \n
- EPIC charting system experience required \n
- No block schedule accommodations available \n

- Active RN license (Compact or Maryland) required \n
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS \n
- Minimum 2-3+ years of recent ICU experience required; no new graduate RNs considered \n
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred \n
- Prior travel nursing experience required \n
- EPIC charting experience required \n
- Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, blood product administration, and port access/management \n
- Respiratory skills required include ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, suctioning, and care of tracheostomy patients \n
- Cardiovascular skills required include CVP monitoring, sheath removal, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care \n
- Medication management skills required include titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medication administration \n
- Neurological skills required include CVA/acute stroke management, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care \n
- Additional preferred skills include IABP, TAVR, EVD, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, hypothermia protocol, CRRT, and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring \n
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred \n
- Pending license applications accepted \n

- Provide critical care nursing to complex ICU patients including trauma, cardiovascular, stroke, and neuro cases \n
- Floating to other units will be conducted in accordance with facility policy, including appropriate orientation \n
- Expect to work some holidays and weekends as scheduled \n
- Only one RTO request permitted, must be approved prior to assignment \n
- Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after a 1-year assignment before returning \n
- Former permanent employees must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler \n
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position \n
- Local candidates within 50 miles will not be accepted \n
- Orientation includes completion of required training modules, which are also completed annually \n
